随心  所欲
近作展自序

在美国20年了，一直非常努力的走自己的路，画自己的图。
这次展出的78件帆布上综合水溶性颜料作品是我近两年的探索。

庆幸不用为几斗米而折腰，面对艺评家的论说和观众的提问，犹如拈花，一笑而已，真正感觉可以天马行空，随心所欲了！
可见的视觉形象在画面中逐渐消失，减剩到只有点、线、面的组合以及颜色的交融。
绘画追求动感，因为动意味着活，是生命的基本特征，从中展露出人生的感受和欲望，抽象凝聚的一刻，个性挣脱传统，永恒汇入宇宙。
无求观者共鸣于我，运用绘画媒体，主宰创作过程，把游移的精神欲望停留在固定可见的一刹那，为自己存真，见证。绘画不是也不能图解感觉，所以像对我没意义。有中有无，无中有有，看画用眼，读画用心，懂画乃是神合。
今春一好友命题我画非具像空谷幽香意境，画不见兰而觉有风，意犹未尽，得诗一首，录此，借为末句：
平生最喜写兰花
西抹东涂任意斜
画到笔随心疾走
清芬横溢念无邪

Josh Yu

Mr. Yu is a painting professor at Savannah College of Art ad Design since 1993, where he holds a terminal degree in art. Since he came to the U.S.A. about 20 years ago, he was a gallery manage, director, chair of painting department, director of studio, director of special projects, office of the president, and is the owner of East-West Gallery. Mr. Yu had 17 solo exhibitions and participated over 55 group exhibitions at galleries, museums around world. In 1998, Mr. Yu had a solo installation “Beyond Image” in China National Art Gallery in Beijing, and Sichuan Fine Art Gallery in Sichuan, China. In 1999, Mr. Yu’s “Tao of Bamboo” installation work won and be presented the Gold Award by“Forte Cup 20th Century Asian Pacific Art Competition” at University of George Washington, Washington, DC.
